Some of Macs most popular lipsticks are reds., and Rebel is no exception. It's satin finish means it isn't as drying on the lips as matte finish lipsticks like Ruby Woo. Preparation is still key so make sure you exfoliate and moisturise your lips before applying this lipstick ( I like to use Burt's Bees Honey lip balm). Mac describe Rebel as a "mid-tonal cream plum" which I think is a fairly accurate description. Although the colour does look darker in the tube compared to on the lips.

I've found a great dupe to Rebel thanks to Wet 'N Wild (an American drugstore brand). I ordered the shade Sugar Plum Fairy (908C) from Ebay. Unlike Mac Rebel this shade is a matte finish which I find to be more drying on the lips.

Overall I think both lipsticks are great. If you're looking for a less expensive alternative and a great colour match then Sugar Plum Fairy might be for you.

I don't think that i have tried MAC before. Both of those look fabulous on you, the Sugar Plum Fairy is very pretty!
