Firstly, it’s the true meaning of Christmas, which I believe is the birth of Jesus. I also love spending time with family and friends.

Q.
What’s your favourite makeup look for the festive season?
It definitely has to be to a bold red lipstick (I'm loving Viva Glam 1 at the moment) or a smoky eye...maybe even together!

3 Reasons Why You Should Take an Interest in Politics

Hope you’re well. Today’s post is slightly different to normal. If you’ve read the title I’m sure you can guess the topic...politics. Recently I got the chance to attend a debate at the House of Commons which inspired me to get more involved in the world of politics. Don’t worry, I’m not looking to change career paths, but you don’t need to be a politician to get involved in politics!  Below are my top 3 reasons why I think you should consider taking an interest in the world of politics.

1. You have the opportunity to let your voice be heard – I’m sure you’ve heard this reason before but it really is true. The people in power are there because we as a society voted them. If you don’t vote how will YOUR voice be heard?
2. The decisions politicians make affect YOU, often without you realising. Taxes, university tuition fees, jobs/employment, education, immigration, healthcare, the list goes on.
3. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain!

Do you vote? And if so why do you vote? Feel free to comment below.

20 Things I’ve Learnt in 20 Years

Today's my birthday and I'm really grateful that God has added another year to my life. Since I'm 20 today, I thought I'd share with you 20 things I've learnt so far, including some of my favourite quotes. Hope you enjoy reading this post; feel free to comment with things you've learnt.

1. Disappointments are inevitable, but the way you respond can be changed.
2. Organization is one of the keys to success.
3. There really are enough hours in the day if you plan your time wisely.
4. Start preparing now, "Private preparation processed public success".
5. Build your character, "Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open”

Autumn Fashion and Beauty Mini Haul Pt 2

A mini haul showing a few of the things i've been buying recently. Last haul till after Christmas.

Products mentioned:

The Cost of Beauty

Recently I learnt that the average British woman spends roughly £2,055 per year on her looks (and around £133,575 over a lifetime), in particular on hair and beauty. As a beauty blogger, at first I was shocked. So I decided to look at things from a psychology student’s point of view, and did some further research. To my surprise I found two articles (Daily Mail and Cosmopolitan) which both confirmed these statistics!
I have to say, these statistics definitely got me thinking. Why do we females spend this much money on hair and beauty? Did I fall under this category or was I on the way to becoming this so called “average woman”?

Let’s break this down further. As some of you may know, I have a YouTube channel and often spend a lot of time watching other YouTube videos. All I had to do was, think back to any of my favourite YouTuber’s haul videos and the answer was clear. YES! It’s definitely possible to spend £2,055 per year on hair and beauty products and I’m sure some people may even spend more!

So, the question is, are YOU ok with spending this amount of money? £133,575 over a lifetime...according to Google that can buy a 3 bedroom house! Personally, I think it’s time to break this cycle of spending.

From now on I’m on a mission, a mission to look at my spending particularly on hair and beauty products. After all, you wash off your makeup at the end of the day! Remember, “No amount of makeup can mask an ugly heart.” - Kevyn Aucoin.

EbonyB's Real Hair: Initial Review

I decided to pick up some Brazilian hair from a company called EbonyB's Real Hair. I picked up three bundles, one 12 inch and two 14 inch of the Wavy Virgin Brazilian Hair in the colour natural. I quiet like the hair so far, it's really soft. There's a bit of a smell to it, but after washing it with the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner the smell seems to have reduced.

I'm thinking of dyeing the hair but we will see what happens. If you know any good hair dyes feel free to comment below.

Hair Journey Update #1

So one of my lovely followers commented on an earlier blog post I wrote about starting my hair journey, which reminded when that I actually haven’t updated you guys. So here’s a quick update.

For those of you who don’t know, a hair journey (or healthy hair journey) is when you commit to learning about your hair, and finding way to help it grow and become healthier. I started my hair journey in May 2012 (5th to be specific).   Since then I’ve relaxed my hair once. And I’m currently trying to stretch my relaxer.

I currently have my hair in a weave; the Organic Root Stimulator Edge Control (pictured above) has been a lifesaver, when blending my hair/weave together. I would also be lost without my Castor Oil, which has been helping to thicken and grow my relaxed hair (click here for a mini castor oil review).
If you have any wonder products which you use for your hair feel free to share them in the comments section.

A quick NOTD (nail of the day) post. I picked up both nail varnishes whilst I was in Paris over the summer. I have on my nails the colour 319 and the Essie "Let it Shine" top coat, a perfect combo for those natural nail days.

What nail varnish do you like to wear for those natural nail days? Feel free to comment below.

Review: Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Firstly, I want to apologise for not posting the last few weeks, I’m back at uni and I’ve been trying to settle back into uni life.

Anyways, today I thought I would share with you my thoughts on a hyped beauty products and a current favourite of mine, Bioderma. I'd heard a lot of hype surrounding this product on youtube, so decided to pick up a bottle (well 3, as there was a 3 for 2 offer on) whilst in Paris over the summer (click here to see my Paris Vlogs: Vlog 1 Vlog 2). This product can be bought online from places such as Amazon and Ebay, so no need to fear!

Bioderma is a French skincare pharmacy brand, they offer a range of different products for all skin types. I particularly like the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution (pictured above)  as it's gentle enough for people with sensitive skin, whilst also acting as an effective make up remover (taking off even tough mascara) and  a daily cleanser.

I personally use Bioderma as a cleanser in the mornings and a make-up remover in the evenings. I love how it really removes any make up I have on, whilst also leaving my skin feeling refreshed and revitalized. I've been encouraging friends and family to try out this products and would defiantly recommend it to anyone who's on the hunt for a cleanser, make-up remover or just likes trying new products.

Have you tried Bioderma? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

House of Fraser Blogger Style Challenge

House of Fraser are currently running a blogger challenge to win £200 in vouchers, with fall slowly approaching, I thought I would share with you some of the items which I picked out.

I'm loving the peplum trend right now, and with the weather slowly starting to get colder a peplum jumper is perfect, the colour is simple making it easy to pair with a range of items.

I have to say it was the collar detailing which drew my eyes to this shirt,  I'd pair it with a bandeau top underneath and a nice thick cardigan.

A scarf is a must have for fall and also a perfect way to add a splash of colour to those dull and dark winter mornings.

Who said you can't wear skirts in autumn?! I love wearing skirts with black or even coloured tights.

It's been said, "a girl can never have too many friends or handbags". Ok, so I just made that up, but everyone loves a bit of arm candy, and this bowler bag is perfect.

Studds are everywhere right now,  I really like these boots for those rock chic kind of days (although I don't think they will be snow friendly!).

No post would be complete with out a few beauty products. Mac's New York Apple screams statement lip colour.

In  autumn our skin can become dry, so it's importan to moiturises, I like this moisturiser because it's light weight and leaves my skin feeling amazingly soft.

What  items do you have your eyes on this fall?
